In the collective imagination for some time the word Masseria no longer evokes, despite being its symbol, the Apulian agricultural society; rather, it recalls five-star resorts, exotic essences and acres of grass lawn.
We strongly wanted Caposella to preserve the memory of its ancient rural history, from the late nineteenth century, for example, when great-grandfather Adolfo Colosso, an agronomist, collector and enlightened entrepreneur, kept part of his flocks in this place.
Therefore there’s no room for lush gardens: only red soil plowed outside, aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub in the courtyard; no emergency lights and electronic keys, only candles, battery-powered torches and old latches; Wi-Fi, TV and air conditioning are the only concession to urban modernity.
